On January 19, 2016, AdSTM represented the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) at the U.S.-ASEAN Workshop on Civil Nuclear Power in Jakarta, Indonesia. The NRC’s Office of International Programs (OIP) was invited to attend the workshop by the U.S. Department of Energy and asked to make a presentation entitled, “The Need for an Independent, Transparent, and Expert Nuclear Regulator and Regulatory Frameworks.” The workshop was conducted jointly by DOE and the ASEAN Centre for Energy.
From January 20-21, 2016, AdSTM attended the Nuclear Power Asia Conference representing the NRC’s International Regulatory Development Partnership (IRDP). The conference was principally attended by government agencies from Southeast Asian countries responsible for development and regulation of nuclear power, the U.S. delegation from the U.S.-ASEAN Workshop, and nuclear power vendors.
