On May 3 – 4, 2015, Bill Bateman and Bob Gramm of AdSTM provided a new workshop on the “Practical Basics of Mechanical, Welding and Nondestructive Examination, and Electrical” in Amman, Jordan. Workshop participants included staff from: the Jordanian Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC); the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC); government agencies affiliated with JAEC (JAEC/JRTR and JAEC/JNPC); and Mostaqbal (Jordanian Technical Support Organization for JAEC). The
AdSTM instructors presented basic information related to nuclear power plant mechanical components, welding techniques and associated weld integrity verification processes, electrical equipment, and instrumentation and control components. Some generic quality and technical verification attributes for these areas were also discussed.
