Standard Review Plan for Light Water Reactors

Purpose

The NUREG-0800 Standard Review Plan (SRP) is a key and fundamental guidance document in USNRC licensing of power reactors This workshop is intended to help participants understand how USNRC and nuclear power plant applicants use the SRP to help ensure every applicant provides a licensing submittal that fully addresses the regulations and demonstrates with reasonable assurance that public health and safety are protected.

Scope

The workshop includes discussions of the purpose of the SRP and its place in the regulatory hierarchy, the relationship between the SRP and certain Regulatory Guides, the use of the SRP in small modular reactor reviews, and the layout and format of the SRP. It also includes examples from an illustrative chapter of the SRP and recent supplemental NRC staff guidance.
