Eric Stahl

Int’l Cooperation & Assistance Branch Chief USNRC/OIP

Eric Stahl is the Chief of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s International Cooperation and Assistance Branch. In this capacity, Mr. Stahl manages the NRC’s international nuclear safety and security collaboration and capacity building efforts with more than 50 countries and international organizations, including the work of the International Regulatory Development Partnership. Mr. Stahl joined the NRC in 2007 in the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response and has spent the majority of his career in the Office of International Programs. He has completed rotational assignments as the NRC’s Deputy Assistant for Operations, and in various roles in the NRC’s Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, NRC’s Office of Public Affairs, and the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation. Mr. Stahl earned a bachelor’s degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in public and international affairs from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Stahl is also a graduate of the NRC's Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program.
