Scott Newberry and Richard Barrett of AdSTM performed a workshop for the staff of the South Africa's National Nuclear Regulator (NNR) at their offices in Centurion, South Africa on RS-001, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's "Review Standard for Extended Power Uprate (EPU)". The workshop was conducted as part of the USNRC sponsored International Regulatory Development Partnership (IRDP). NNR expects to receive an application for increasing the power level of the two Koeberg pressurized water reactors located near Capetown South Africa. They are in the process of preparing their review procedures for both the power uprate and anticipated steam generator replacement. There were 29 NNR staff in attendance, including both technical staff from headquarters and inspection personnel stationed at the plant.
