Fundamentals of Reactor Safety

Purpose: 

This is an introductory course to provide developing regulatory agencies with basic knowledge on reactor safety fundamentals.

Scope: 

“Fundamental of Reactor Safety” is an overview of the key technical concepts governing nuclear safety. It includes the basics of radiation and nuclear energy; fundamentals of reactor design and operation; postulated accidents; the potential extent of public health effects, the design and operational safeguards to prevent radiation releases and the provisions for emergency response.
